We wanted you to see a prayer request we received on Shepherd’s Gates’ website last week (we’ve changed the name to respect his privacy):
“Please pray for Ryan who has never had a bed of his own in all his 8 years. Who has bounced around because I, his mother am undereducated, middle-aged and struggling to find a job. Pray because in two weeks our temporary arrangement will expire and we will start all over again on the street.” We’re asking you to please do three things: 1st: Pray for this young man, who’s never slept in his own bed. Can you imagine what that must be like? 2nd: We’re asking that you give a Thanksgiving gift to Shepherd’s Gate this week so that we can help all of these moms and children who are in need. We’re stretched to the limits helping them. Your gift this week will make a big difference so that we don’t have to turn away the “Ryans” and their moms when they come to us. If you’re thankful for what you have and would like to help deserving children in need, please give. Click here to go to our secure donation page. 3rd: Would you share this request with a friend who could help? Most of us, even in these difficult economic times, have a place to sleep. An 8-year-old shouldn’t have to worry about where he’s going to sleep. Maybe you know someone who would be able to help those in need at Thanksgiving.
