One of my greatest privileges at Shepherd’s Gate is witnessing the healing that takes place between our women and their families.
Sometimes I see mothers and children being reunited and restoring the bond of trust that was lost. I see mothers finally becoming the kind of parent they know their children need. It’s incredibly powerful.
Other times, I see adult daughters being restored to their parents and other family members. There is nothing like the relief I see in the eyes of their relatives. They were once without hope, but now it is as if the young woman they love has been brought back to life again.
Regardless of the exact circumstance, it’s such a clear picture to me of God’s grace and desire for reconciliation. He never gives up on us, never stops searching for us, and never stops wanting to make us whole:
“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us.”
—2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (NLT)
That’s the other thing I get to see on a regular basis: God takes these precious women, restores them, and makes them ambassadors. Many of our women are truly passionate about sharing their story and using it to help others. They use their once-broken lives as an opportunity to point others to God’s grace and healing.
Thank you for being a part of this amazing transformation! From my heart, I want you to know that your support makes this all possible. Praise God for allowing us to be part of His amazing plan!
