At Shepherd’s Gate, we are constantly driven by a sense of urgency — we know women and children face desperate and dangerous circumstances each day. And to us, even one more day spent in homelessness, addiction or abuse is too many.
That’s why we will be working hard to get 3 additional resident rooms and 1 cottage open this summer allowing us to offer safe refuge to even more of these struggling families.
That’s also why a computer lab for continuing education is so important for our women to gain the skills they need to obtain a living- wage job. And why we hold a Backpack Drive each year to make sure our children have the tools that will help them succeed in school.
Every gift you give greatly impacts the life of a child!
Think of Stephanie and Abigail. With the Lord’s help, Abigail will grow up free of the destructive cycle that nearly broke her mom. And because Stephanie graduated from our long-term recovery program last month, Abigail is more likely to go to her own high school or college graduation someday.
Not only that — if Stephanie is like many of our past graduates, she’ll return to Shepherd’s Gate to encourage other women as they work to build a new future. The blessings of your kindness pass from mother to child, from graduate to current resident. God is so good!
