Matthew Henry said “We can depend on God to fulfill His promise, even when all the roads leading to it are closed”. “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes”. And through Christ our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
There have been many times in my life when all I had to hold onto was a promise from God. When Carla and I came to Shepherd’s Gate over 16 years ago, the roads appeared closed. We moved 2,500 miles, leaving our families and friends. There was no money, no credit, no government support, and few supporters. All we had was the promise of God that He would build a campus where desperate women and children could heal, learn of His love and build new lives. God has now built 2 campuses in California where thousands of precious women and children have found new lives in Jesus! He has also promised to expand this ministry to other cities and countries as well! He does the impossible! His promises are true! Glory to His name! “God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection.” Psalm 18:30 “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8 “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him and He will help you.” Psalm 37:4-5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” Psalm 3:5-6 “He (Christ) existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.” Colossians 1:17 “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a peace the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 Has the Lord given you a promise? Hold onto it! Hold onto Him! He IS truth! He will never leave you or forsake you. How has the Lord fulfilled his promises to you?
