Carol Patterson, CEO
Carol Patterson is the new Chief Executive Officer of Shepherd’s Gate, and began January 15, 2018. Previously, Carol served as Vice President at Cityteam's corporate headquarters in San Jose for over 17 years, where she focused on homelessness and addiction across all five cities in the United States, plus their international locations in Africa. Her expertise in nonprofit ministry, finance, and operations positions her to be a visionary leader for our organization.
However, it is Carol’s tremendous passion for homeless and abused women and children in the Bay Area that is her most important asset. She is deeply committed to Christ and helping more women break the cycles of homelessness, abuse, and addiction. She is empowering women out of poverty with long-lasting results. Carol continues Shepherd’s Gate’s mission and advancement to help even more women and children transform their lives.
Prior to Citytean, Carol held multiple executive position in the enterprise software industry for over 23 years working with SAP, Oracle and Symantec. She holds a BA from California State University East Bay, as well a Wharton Business School certificate in digital marketing and economics. Prior to her business background she attended San Jose State University for Occupational Therapy with an internship at Kaiser Hospital's Inpatient Psychiatry Care Center.
Carol grew up in the East Bay and developed a heart for serving those in need while attending Carondelet High School.
