I love getting to witness worship services here at Shepherd’s Gate. I’ve been a part of many worship services over the years, but none move my heart as much as these ones. There’s something so incredibly moving in seeing these precious women, who have been through so much, calling out to the Lord in their deepest moment of need.
Somehow I think it moves the heart of God as well.
And I know He responds. I’ve seen heart after heart opens up during these times of musical worship and prayer — hearts that were once hard because it seemed like the only way to survive homelessness or addiction or abuse. But in here, the women are safe. And over time, as they realize how completely they are loved by God, they begin to trust Him.
It’s an amazing transformation and I’m privileged to see it.What about you? Have you ever visited a place of great need and been humbled by the power of their worship? Have you ever sensed God drawing near to you in your own great need? I’d love to hear about it in the comments section below.
“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” Psalm 59:16
