About The Position:

The Residential Assistant (RA) is responsible for campus and resident safety and ensuring consistency in program operations in accordance with Shepherd’s Gate Program policy and procedures. The RA works under the direction and support of the Residential Coordinator Supervisor (RCS), sharing feedback on the resident’s progression of goals and compliance with program criteria. The RA uses relational and functional skills to support residents and complete residents’ needs and other job tasks. Must be able to demonstrate Christian values and the heart of Jesus Christ in a Christian community environment. This is a sleeping position and may have occasional interruptions. We are located in Livermore, CA.

Job Duties and Requirements (not a complete job description of the job):

  • Experience with addiction recovery, domestic violence, and or homelessness. If you have more relative experience not shown on your resume, please send a cover letter.
  • Provide spiritual and Biblical guidance by encouraging, praying, and supporting the women, children, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to supervise and hold the residents accountable for their program and assisting with needs.
  • Strong knowledge of boundaries.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of people.
  • Ability to be adaptable and teachable.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a clean driving record and be insured.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Demonstrate a committed Christian faith
  • This is a sleeping position and may have occasional interruptions.
  • Schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.

🔹 Drive residents to appointments and essential locations (company vehicle provided).
🔹 Foster healthy connections while maintaining strong personal boundaries.
🔹 Demonstrate values and the heart of Jesus in a Christ-centered community.
🔹 Provide spiritual and Biblical guidance to the women, children, staff, and volunteers.

✅ You have experience with domestic violence, addiction recovery,  or homelessness
✅ You have a personal relationship with Jesus and want to live out your faith in your work.
✅ You’re compassionate, adaptable, and able to lead with both kindness and accountability.
✅ You have a valid driver’s license (3+ years) and a clean driving record.
✅ You can lift up to 30 lbs and meet the physical demands of the role.
✅ You’re teachable, flexible, and eager to grow in your calling.

You can safely drop off food-related items and things from our urgent needs list at the table outside of our front door on each campus. There is a receipt book or QR Code app for receipts.
