As Shepherd’s Gate women, children, and staff sit down to our Thanksgiving meal this year, we’ll be thinking of you. You see, it’s friends like you who make miracles possible at Shepherd’s Gate!
Last year, many of our women and children were homeless — either bouncing around from couch to couch, struggling to sleep in their car, or even sleeping on the streets. This year, they sleep in peace and safety, thanks to you. Some of our moms were separated from their children last year because of homelessness, addiction or abuse. Today, they’re reunited and making special holiday memories together as a family.
You provided a place where they could begin to heal — it starts with healthy food and safe refuge, but it doesn’t end there. Everything women and children need — from counseling and parenting classes to education and job training, to recovery programs and Bible studies — every tool these precious people need to get back on their feet is provided. All because you gave!
Perhaps most meaningful of all — women and children were suffering so much pain and fear last year that it was difficult to think of any reason to be thankful. But today they are overwhelmed by God’s gracious blessings. Though things still might not be easy, their hearts are full of hope that tomorrow WILL BE BETTER.
It’s all possible because of our friends — people like you who volunteer, who pray for us, who give so faithfully. Never doubt that you make a tremendous impact! When we thank God for His goodness to us — you are at the top of our list!
