Steve and Carla have felt so blessed by all the prayers and support they have received for Steve and his recovery from his accident. It has been a life-changing, emotional journey and Steve says that he could not have done this without the encouragement he has received.
Recovering from a spinal cord injury is never a “quick fix.” However, day-by-day Steve is healing. He has been home now for twelve weeks and each day is filled with several hours of intense and exhausting physical therapy. We are encouraged by his continued healing and progress, although at times it feels painfully slow (even though the doctors assure us it is not!)
Steve continues to lead Shepherd’s Gate with his vision and strategy and is becoming involved in the day-to-day leadership and operation once again. He was able to attend our last graduations in both Livermore and Brentwood, the last three monthly Board of Directors’ meetings, a staff training meeting, and hopefully, will be in his Livermore office on a regular basis in the near future.
Steve and Carla would like to again thank everyone who is a part of the Shepherd’s Gate family. Your prayers and support have contributed greatly to Steve’s recovery and they feel blessed to be a part of this ministry, which is about healing and changing the lives of the women and children here at Shepherd’s Gate. This is their passion and they appreciate your continued support so this goal can be achieved.
Thank you and God bless you.
