The Wondrous Gate

By Jen Harp

“Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved.”

John 10:9 (NLT)

One of the biggest objections to Christianity is that it’s “too narrow.” It is true that God says there is only one way to His presence, and only one way to enjoy the freedom, hope, healing and everlasting life He offers, but what many people overlook is that ANYONE is welcome.

All you have to do is come, ask and believe.

That’s one of the biggest blessings of working with the women and children here at Shepherd’s Gate. I get to watch God transform them as they accept His free gift of grace, no matter where they’ve come from, what they’ve done, or what’s been done to them.

The gate may be narrow, but all are welcome, all are invited, and all who come to Him will be saved.

In my mind, that’s the opposite of exclusive.  It is the most inclusive way God could make Himself known. It is an immense privilege to walk people to this gate on a daily basis, and it’s possible because of the faithful support of people like you!

No matter where you are or what you are doing today, share God’s love with someone. Today may be the day they decide to walk through the beautiful, wondrous, life-changing gate!
