Holiday Gift Drive Tips

At Christmas, we work to restore dignity for mothers here by setting up a room filled with gifts where they can “shop” for their children’s gifts. The gifts are simple — a coat, clothing, and a toy or two — but they make a tremendous difference for children who have had to get by with so little. And for mothers who are re-establishing relationships with their kids after living with chaos and separation, being able to give their child a gift helps restore trust. But we need your help! You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy or clothing item at our Livermore or Brentwood offices now through December 20. And to broaden the impact of your generosity, get your friends and family involved too! Here are a few ideas: —Talk to the kids in your life about the needs of children who are experiencing homelessness. Get them involved in saving a bit of their own hard earned money to provide a gift for others. —Get your church small group involved! If your group does a Christmas party, have each person bring a gift for a child in need. —Bring the Holiday Gift Drive to your office and get your coworkers on board! Thanks so much for caring about these precious families as they heal over the holidays. If you need more information, please contact Catie at (925) 443-4283 ext. 117.
