Residential Coordinator-Excellent learning environment with great opportunities.

About The Position:

We are looking for a full-time Residential Coordinator with a passion for serving women and children in crisis. The Residential Coordinator (RC) is responsible for campus and resident safety and ensuring consistency in program operations in accordance with Shepherd’s Gate Program policy and procedures. The RC works under the direction and support of the Residential Coordinator Supervisor (RCS), sharing feedback on the resident’s progression of goals and compliance with program criteria. The RC uses relational and functional skills to support residents and complete residents’ needs and other job tasks. Must be able to demonstrate Christian values and the heart of Jesus Christ in a Christian community environment. We are located in Brentwood, CA.

Facilities Support Technician-Excellent learning environment with great opportunities.

About The Position:

We are looking for a part-time Facilities Support Technician with experience in different trades. The Maintenance Support Technician provides primary support for maintaining the facilities in Brentwood. The Technician will provide hands-on maintenance and repair of buildings and plumbing, act as the primary onsite contact for facility projects and with trade partners, coordinate routine asset maintenance, and facilitate safety inspections. The Technician will also work with facility volunteers and lead facility-based volunteer groups.

Schedule- 16 weekly hours per week. Extra hours may be needed on occasions such as volunteer weeks and during special projects.

Located in Brentwood, CA.

Job Duties and Requirements (not a complete job description of the job):

  • Monitor the Salesforce maintenance request list.
  • Complete repairs or communicate if a repair needs to be made with other assistance.
  • Maintain partnerships with volunteers or volunteer groups.
  • Ability to move furniture and set up rooms with some assistance.
  • Communicate with volunteers, vendors, trade partners, and staff regarding appointments and people onsite.
  • Determine if there is a safety or cosmetic repair.
  • Assist with regular maintenance of buildings and vehicles as needed.
  • Must be able to drive. To drive for Shepherd’s Gate, you must have your California driver’s license for at least 5 years with no major violations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Demonstrate a committed Christian faith.

Case Manager- Excellent learning environment with great opportunities.

About the position:

We are looking for a full-time (32 hours per week) Case Manager with experience working with women and children in crisis and the ability to work with a great team. Located in Livermore, CA

Job duties: (not a complete job description list)

  • Provide spiritual and Biblical guidance by encouraging, praying, and supporting the women, children, staff, and volunteers.
  • Supervise residents regarding goals and care plans. Meet one hour a week with each resident to provide accountability for accomplishing individual goals and case plans.
  • Research, assess, and advocate for the residents’ need for referrals to social service, legal, medical, and other professional services.
  • Advise residents regarding stumbling blocks impeding their success.
  • Lead, attended staff meetings, and provided updates on the residents’ progress. These meetings will establish and monitor the resident’s individual program goals. Present resident disciplinary notices alongside program staff and act as the representative of the team to the resident.
  • Identify and report evidence of suspected abuse or neglect (training provided upon hire).
  • Assist the Campus Director with the Intake process, complete new resident paperwork, and ensure resident’s understanding of Program Guidelines and Expectations.
  • Refer women to other programs, shelters, legal aid, housing agencies, medical assistance, and other information pertinent to motivating them to a stabilized situation.
  • Occasionally drives women and children to appointments or other locations to accomplish program goals.

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, residents, volunteers, and community groups.
  • Ability to problem-solve with residents to accomplish their case management goals, program goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to listen to residents’ life situations, show compassion and understanding, and give spiritual guidance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and follow through until tasks are completed.
  • Ability to write business correspondence, reports, and applications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and individuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software, especially spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate Christian values and the heart of Jesus Christ in a Christian Community environment.
  • At least one year of experience in a social service setting that included providing related services in the following areas: prevention, planning, education, intervention, assessment, or administration.
  • Have a working familiarity with issues and obstacles faced by people in crisis and/or homeless situations with life-controlling problems. The ability to use de-escalation exercises when needed.
  • First Aid training and CPR Certification (provided upon hire).
  • Mandated Reporter Training (provided upon hire)
  • Must have a current California Driver’s license (min 5 yrs.), a clean DMV report, and be able to drive Shepherd’s Gate’s vehicles.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

JOB SUMMARY

The Donation Assistant’s objective is to bring revenue to our ministry by receiving donated items in our retail establishment or picking up larger items at establishments that donate them to the Shepherd’s Gate New Life Store.  All of this is accomplished in accordance with the purpose of Shepherd’s Gate, which is to meet the needs of homeless women and children in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • Receiving, sorting and processing donated clothing and household items for resale
  • Pricing and stocking shelves
  • Assist with furniture pick-ups
  • Assist with store and yard maintenance

  • Potential for driving a 15′ box truck
  • You can expect to build relationships with donors and team members and see your impact on the lives of those around you.
