Life is busy . . . especially at this time of year! Doesn’t it feel like September is a train that just picks up speed all the way until January comes? I know that in my own life, sometimes it’s easy to get so focused on all of the things on my to-do list that I don’t see what’s going on in the lives of the people around me. I miss opportunities to stop and minister and be a blessing to someone. It’s one of the things I love so much about the ministry of Jesus. His work was the most important work in the history of the world — yet He was very interrupt-able. He was gracious and tender when people came to Him with their needs. He took time to heal them. And it pointed people to God. “Jesus returned to the Sea of Galilee and climbed a hill and sat down. A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn’t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.” —Matthew 15:29-31 (NLT) I don’t know about you, but I want God to be able to interrupt me. I want to see with His eyes to understand what is most important. So, in my prayer time, I’m asking him to help me be sensitive to His voice as I go about my day. Won’t you join me? Do you have a story of God interrupting you in a big way or a small way that made a difference? I’d love to hear your story in the comments below!
