With day-to-day life completely changed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there are 2 important things we want to share with our ministry partners.

  1. Our commitment has always been, and will continue to be, to help women and children escape abuse and homelessness.
  2. We fully trust in God’s faithfulness during this time and know that He will see us through.

With those two principles guiding us, here are some of the changes and updates that our campuses are making in response to the COVID-19 situation.

Shepherd’s Gate’s Response

  • We are following all precautions recommended from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention, and will continue to follow guidelines issued from the CDC and local county health agencies.
  • After careful praying and discussion, we have temporarily closed the Thrift Store to help protect the well-being of our volunteers, staff and people in our community.
  • The health of our volunteers, staff and residents is a top priority. Because of this, we have asked our faithful volunteers to stay at home for the time being. Our dedicated staff is internally keeping all of the programs going for the women and children.

How You Can Help

Financial donations will help us continue our vital ministry during this time. We are having to spend extra funds to purchase food, vitamins, cold medicine, protective gear for our staff and other essential items. The children are also home from school, so our food budget has increased. Your gift will help provide food and medical supplies, along with life-changing programs. You can donate at: www.shepherdsgate.org/covid-19-donate/.

If you would like to donate food items for our pantry, the following items are greatly appreciated: canned fruit or vegetables, baby food, baby cereal, fruit juice boxes, canned soup, mac and cheese. To protect you, our staff and our guests, we have placed a donation table outside our front door on each campus, where you can quickly and safely drop off your donation.

Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. We know God is in control and is protecting us.

If you have any questions or concerns – or if you need prayer during this difficult time – please do not hesitate to email us here.

Do not be anxious about anything,  but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
